Ivan Koulakov
Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice-Director of the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Head of the Geophysical Department, Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Head of laboratory for Seismic Tomography Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Head of laboratory for Seismic Imaging at Novosibirsk State University, Senior Lecturer, Novosibirsk State University, Department of Geology and Geophysics.
The main scientific achievements: Ivan Koulakov is a head of laboratory of seismic tomography at Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysicsб Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which performs the full cycle of seismological studies starting from installation of seismic network and development of algorithms for seismic data analysis to calculation of seismic models of real geological objects and interpretation. Ivan Koulakov has performed investigations of various geological structures throughout the world, such as active volcanoes, fault zones, rifting systems, geothermal fields, collision and subduction zones. He has created an algorithm for local earthquake tomography LOTOS (Koulakov, 2009), which is available in open access and used by many researchers worldwide. There are other modifications of this algorithm developed by Ivan Koulakov that provide the information about seismic anisotropy, attenuation and temporal changes. Moreover, he has created an algorithm for surface-wave tomography inversion based on the ambient noise data. Most of tomography results published by Ivan Koulakov and coauthors are accompanied with geological interpretation.
Dmitry Grazhdankin
Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Precambrian Paleontology and Stratigraphy at the A.A. Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics), Senior Lecturer at Novosibirsk State University, Department of Geology and Geophysics. Main research interests: reconstruction of mechanisms for functioning paleoecosystems; reconstruction of the eukaryotic phylogenetic tree from the late Precambrian and early Phanerozoic Eons; regional and global correlation of the Upper Proterozoic and Northern Eurasia Terrenevian system; reconstruction of the Ediacaran biota habitat conditions on the basis of the Upper Vendian deposits in the reference sections of the East European and Siberian platforms.
Sergey Smirnov
Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice-Director of the Sobolev’s Institute of Geology and Mineralogy. Associate Professor at Novosibirsk State University.
Scientific interests: mineralogy of granitic pegmatites and felsic magmatic rocks, fluid and melt inclusions in minerals, fluids in magmatic reservoirs, connection between fluidized magmas, ore formation and volcanism.
Andrey Izokh
Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Head of the Laboratory Petrology and Metallogeny, Sobolev’s Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Head of the Department of Petrography and Geology of Ore Deposits at Novosibirsk State University, Department of Geology and Geophysics.
Main research interests: mineralogical-petrographic, geochronological and geochemical investigations of layered ultramafic-mafic associations of Central and Southeast Asia. The regularities of the evolution and spatial distribution of ultramafic-mafic magmatism of large igneous provinces of Asia are investigated and the features of the formation of Cu-Ni –EPG mineralization are shown. The prospect of individual massifs and territories of Russia, Mongolia and Vietnam in relation to the primary and placer platinum mineralization has been substantiated.
Anton Duchkov
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of Laboratory of Seismic Dynamics, Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Associate Professor at Novosibirsk State University (Department of Geology and Geophysics and Information Technology).
Scientific interests include fast algorithms of reflection-seismic data processing and imaging, microseismic monitoring of hydrofrac, studying physical properties of gas-hydrate bearing sediments.
