A Residency in Dermatovenerology provides doctors exhaustive knowledge in their specialty. This excellent education will foster the development of Dermatovenerology as a discipline, and the clinical, scientific and human competences of each graduate completing the Residency program.

A residency in Dermatovenerology includes theoretical and clinical practice modules. Key characteristics of the theoretical training are the interdisciplinary nature of the subjects as well as the emphasis on independent study. Residents learn how to work with current literature, analyze medical information, and relate the theoretical knowledge gained to their practical clinical experience

Program goal

A Residency in Dermatovenerology is designed to prepare qualified, trained medical specialists in dermatology. They will have the ability to work autonomously in a specialized area of medicine, including high-technology medical care. The education will provide trainees with an excellent and broad background in fundamental medical science and with the professional, technical, and clinical skills necessary in their field. The trainees will also acquire in-depth knowledge of related disciplines.

Research activity

  • Residents and faculty meet two times a month to review the latest clinical and basic science research articles, gain insight into ongoing research activities within the Department, and look for answers to clinical questions. Topics include prominent medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and laser/cosmetics topics, as well as relevant articles from outside dermatology.
  • Each resident has a theme for their clinical research work and reports their results four times a year. Several times a year, residents review interesting cases from their consultation services to their peers. Complex medical cases are presented with a pathology review.

  • Early and late onset psoriasis clinical course characteristics
  • Clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with psoriasis receiving biological therapy
  • Epidemiological features of feet onychomycosis among inhabitants of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region, and their role in prevention
  • Influence of contact allergens on skin pathologies
  • Clinic anamnestic features of autoimmune bullous dermatoses
  • Bacteriological study of the acneic skin microflora
  • Features of nevi among patients suffering from vitiligo

Tuition fees are U.S. $12,000 per year.

Every year foreign students have an opportunity to apply for the Russian Government Scholarship Program

Note! Selection in the Residency Program is competitive and based on the results of a final interview. For enrollment you have to submit both original and notarized Russian translations of the required documents to the NSU International Recruitment Office (office 2325).
