Applicants’ rights and duties

Verification/validation has to be carried out by the greenhouse gas validation and verification body based on the contract with the customer.

The timing of the verification/validation has to be determined by the greenhouse gas validation and verification body together with the customer. Taking into account the information received during the implementation of the necessary procedures, the timing of verification/validation can be adjusted in agreement with the customer.

Prior to the start of the verification/validation process related to the consideration of the greenhouse gas application, the customer needs to take into account the following:

  • Establishment of the required verification/validation level;
  • Approval of verification/validation objectives;
  • Establishment of verification/validation criteria;
  • Establishing the scope of verification/validation.

The customer is responsible for the preparation of the Greenhouse Gas Application and its submission to the Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Body together with other information necessary to substantiate the application.

The Customer has to provide the Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Body represented by the Verification/Validation Expert with sufficient information to assess the possibility of competent performance of the work.

The Validation and Verification Body has to submit to the customer the conclusions drawn up in the form of a conclusion based on the results of the verification/validation process.

  • Establish the required verification/validation level;
  • Agree on verification/validation objectives;
  • Establish verification/validation criteria;
  • Establish the scope of verification/validation.

Customer rights

  • Independently draw up a statement on greenhouse gases (without the help of employees of the greenhouse gas validation and verification body);
  • Meet verification/validation criteria;
  • Provide the Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Authority with sufficient information to provide the service, timely inform about changes in this information, and take all necessary measures to ensure the verification/validation process.
