On March 8, the Novosibirsk State University sports complex hosted a badminton competition dedicated to International Women's Day. For eight hours, mixed teams of Russian and foreign students and teachers fought not only for victory in the tournament, but for the right to participate in the student Universiade and the Spartakiade «Cheerfulness and Health» for teachers and employees at Novosibirsk higher educational institutions.
The winners were:
1st place – «Sunny Beach» team (Rabia Hamidreza (ZIMP), Anna Pushkarevskaya (NSD), Baedi Parastu (IMPZ), Mohammad Saad (NSD).
2nd place – «Oranges» team (Igor Grishko (PD), Anna Stepanova (ITD), Vladislav Kraev (PD), Anna Nekrasova (HCI).
3rd place – «Bachitselou» team (Chen Lu (HI graduate student), Tiantian Ji (ZIMP), Zijian Li (NSD), Chunchun Yuan (ZIMP).
Mohammad Saad shared his emotions about the tournament,
I have been playing badminton on a regular basis for the last four months. A week before the tournament, I got the information about it. I feel very proud that I won the tournament. It was not possible without the help of my teammates. With good coordination among the teammates, we secured the first position. Specially thankful to NSU and Coach, who provide me with these wonderful opportunities.
