Traditional NSU Mayevka Bonfire Returns

"Interweek", NSU’s annual international student youth forum, is taking place April 21-30. Various University venues are hosting events where participants learn about the history and culture of foreign countries (including the home countries for NSU foreign students), take part in master classes, thematic meetings, concerts, and other entertainment events. For example, on April 21st there was a student EthnoParty, on April 22nd the beloved international Arbat, and on April 26th NSU Music Club musical flash mobs.

On April 29th there will be "InterGames", a large-scale sports festival. The final event on April 30 is the “Maevka" rock concert. On the stage in front of the University’s main building headliners Operation Plasticine, Otyken, Buerak, and Traces, as well as Novosibirsk groups, will perform. The concert ends with the return of a three-meter bonfire.

Elena Krasilova, Head of the NSU Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work talked about “Interweek”,

We are glad that public events have returned to our lives in the formats that many have enjoyed since childhood. The University welcomed more than 2,000 people to our Open House Day and the University comedy team concerts are gathering full houses. Novosibirsk, and in particular Akademgorodok, missed mass events, you could feel it.  Interweek and Mayevka are no exception! We are pleased to announce that we returned to the usual forms of traditional events and invite all residents of Novosibirsk and Akademgorodok to attend.
