Recently, a group from the Novosibirsk State University Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (RCAI NSU) attended the World Global Expo in Shenzhen, one of Eurasia's leading conferences on urban digital technologies. The SIGMA software platform that was developed RCAI NSU, attracted the attention of Chinese partners and can be applied in a number of smart city projects.
Initial meetings with the Shenzhen New Energy Association took place at the end of 2025. A cooperation agreement was signed this year between NSU and the Association. The document envisages joint projects to implement artificial intelligence technologies in construction, energy, and urban infrastructure management. The trip to the exhibition and Shenzhen University marked another step in the development of this partnership when NSU representatives presented their developments and proposals for further cooperation to their Chinese colleagues.
Polina Sazonova, Head of the Sigma Platform Development team, talked about the partner’s synergy,
Chinese developers have made greater progress in constructing 3D models and creating extensive sensor networks. We use SIGMA to solve problems related to managing processes occurring in urban environments. Therefore, our products complement each other perfectly creating a digital twin of a city. That is what attracted the interest of our Chinese colleagues.
