Novosibirsk State University recently met with a delegation fr om the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy. NSU representatives attending the meeting included Dmitry Pyshny, Rector and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Svetlana Sablina, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Evgeny Sagaydak, Head of the Education Export Department, and Heads of Departments overseeing training in Nuclear Physics and research in this field.
The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy was represented by three organizations in Kurchatov and the Abay Regions in Kazakhstan: the National Nuclear Center, the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and JSC “Park of Nuclear Technologies”.
Sagaydak described the meeting,
This was our first meeting and the primary goal was to establish cooperation between the Novosibirsk Region and nuclear scientists from Kazakhstan. We are also considering a comprehensive partnership that includes collaboration with the Siberian Branch RAS research institutes, the SKIF Collective Use Center, and NSU. Our colleagues from Kazakhstan were particularly interested in our experience creating a science city wh ere we have been successfully implementing our three-part model of education, science, and technology for many years.
Participants also discussed the possibility of organizing internships for NSU students at the Kazakhstani organizations and cooperation in two other promising spheres that target specialist training at the NSU Physics Department and the creation of joint dissertation councils.
