Novosibirsk State University and Ahvaz Jondishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on joint educational programs. The programs include launching a Biomedical Sciences Preparatory Department at the Iranian University and student and faculty exchange programs.
AJU is one of Iran's leading universities in the medical field. It has 10,000 students, eight departments, seven on-site clinics, and 21 research centers. The Biomedical Preparatory Department will enroll 30 students in each of three programs, pharmacy, general medicine, and cybernetics. Students will study Russian for a year at AJU and then enroll in the English-language program in General Medicine at NSU.
A series of additional meetings between the two Universities will be held in the near future to develop an action plan for establishing the new Department and launching other joint educational programs.
