The Novosibirsk Regional Ministry of Education and the Henan Province Department of Education have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. This marks the first agreement of its kind between the Novosibirsk Region and the Chinese province. The document outlines comprehensive collaboration in the fields of education, science, and culture. The agreement was initiated by Novosibirsk State University. The ceremony took place during the 13th International Forum for Technological Development, "Technoprom-2026", that is part of the "Russia — Novosibirsk — China" international forum.
Evgeny Sagaydak, Head of the Education Export Department at NSU, explained,
The signing of this memorandum is a significant step toward strengthening interregional cooperation in education. It establishes an organizational framework for implementing joint initiatives and further developing interaction between educational institutions in the Novosibirsk Region and Henan Province. This cooperation extends to higher education institutions, secondary vocational education, and general education. In addition to the memorandum, plans are in place to develop and sign a 'roadmap' detailing specific activities to deepen cooperation between the two regions.
One of the upcoming initiatives will be a visit by an educational delegation from the Novosibirsk Region to Henan Province. During the trip, the delegation will explore the region's educational system and showcase the potential of the Novosibirsk Region’s higher education sector to their Chinese partners.
