This summer, from July 6 to 19, the Big Mathematical Workshop will be held in person. The event will be organized in four regions: Novosibirsk (based at NSU), St. Petersburg (based at ITMO), Tomsk (based at TSU), Maykop (based at ASU), and Omsk (based at OFIM SB RAS).
The Big Mathematical Workshop is a platform for joint work of students, schoolchildren, and teachers under the guidance of curators on various mathematical projects. Participants are given the opportunity to solve research, technological, or methodological problems proposed by scientific institutions and industrial enterprises.
The Workshop projects for 2025 are already available on the
official websites. This year, participants will be able to participate in more than 50 projects covering a wide range of mathematical disciplines, from fundamental mathematics to mathematical modeling.
The following are invited to participate in the Workshop:
- high school students (schoolchildren can receive additional points for the Unified State Exam when entering NSU for excellent work in the Workshop),
-
students (participation in the Workshop will provide unique experience of working on real projects, which will be very valuable when continuing a research career and finding a job);
-
young researchers, teachers and lecturers (for teachers and researchers with higher education, the Workshop can become a professional development program; upon successful completion, certificates of the established form will be issued).
To apply for participation, you must:
- Register on the Big Mathematical Workshop website.
- Sel ect the projects you are interested in and add them to the application (minimum 3 projects).
- Fill in your personal data in the participant's account and submit the application.
Participants fr om other cities can request compensation for accommodation expenses. However, this year the Workshop organizers cannot reimburse transportation costs, so it is recommended to apply for financial support to your educational institutions.
Applications are accepted until June 1, 2025. It is important to have time to select projects and submit an application, as the number of places is limited and may not be enough for all desired projects. It is recommended to select several projects to increase your chances of participation.
