As part of the meeting of the International Supervisory Board of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, the results of the competition of research projects for 2024 were summed up.
The competition received 22 applications. The topics of the declared research cover a wide range of areas from fundamental problems in mathematics and theoretical physics to applied problems related to the use of artificial intelligence methods in medicine. The competition was attended by both research teams that were already working at the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok in 2023, as well as new teams.
All proposed applications went through several stages of selection, including independent examination by Russian and foreign specialists. The last round of project evaluation and summing up the results of the competition took place at a meeting of the International Supervisory Board of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.
Based on the results of the meeting, 16 research projects were selected that will receive funding from the Center in 2024. Funding for one project ranges from 2 to 6 million rubles. The total funding of the competition is 70 million rubles.
“It is necessary to note the very high scientific level of research in the applications submitted for the competition. The wide coverage of various areas of mathematics in the projects required a competent expert assessment to make a decision on supporting a particular project. I believe that the Supervisory Board of the Center, which includes world-renowned mathematicians, made a correct and informed decision on the results of the competition" , - said the director of the Center at Novosibirsk State University, dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Novosibirsk State University Igor Vladimirovich Marchuk.
