Employees of the Mathematical Center attended the conference on information security

On April 21–22, in Anapa, on the basis of the military innovative technopolis ERA, the III Russian Scientific and Technical Conference "State and Prospects for the Development of Modern Science in the Field of Information Security" was held. On behalf of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, Alexander Kutsenko, Natalia Atutova and Daria Zyubina took part in the conference. They made a presentation "Analysis of the strength of lightweight cryptography standards for communication systems over the air interface to algebraic attacks", in which they analyzed the effectiveness of algebraic attacks on Simon and Speck cyphers. Earlier, we talked about the study of these cyphers, carried out within the framework of the First Workshop of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.

The purpose of the conference was to organize the exchange of information on new scientific and technical developments, to search for partners in the field of information security in the interests of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and to develop proposals for improving the activities of the technopolis in the direction of Information Security.

The conference participants included heads and representatives of the central bodies of military command, specialized research and educational organizations of Russia, leading enterprises of the military-industrial complex. In total, about 100 people from 35 organizations took part in the conference.

Within the framework of the plenary and sectional reports, the following issues were discussed:
  • priority directions in the development of military information security
  • the main directions of increasing the level of security of automated (information) military systems;
  • basic requirements for advanced information security tools
  • application of modern technologies to improve the protection of information processed in automated (information) military systems, assessment of their effectiveness
During the plenary session, Deputy Head of the Technopolis for Scientific and Educational Activities, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Colonel Andrei Morozov noted:

The modern stage of development of society is characterized by the increasing role of the information sphere, which is a collection of information, information infrastructure, subjects. The information sphere, being a system-forming factor in the life of society, actively influences the state of the political, economic, defense and other components of the security of the Russian Federation.

Also, at the plenary session, reports were heard from representatives of leading research institutes, government agencies and military command and control bodies. They made proposals on identifying vulnerabilities during certification tests, as well as on training cybersecurity specialists.
