Participants were divided into sections: molecular and cellular biology, ecology, agricultural and industrial biotechnology, physiology and medical biotechnology.

Novosibirsk State University was represented by 4 teams. The teams of students from NSU’s Natural Sciences Department took prizes in all sections. Alexander Lukin, a fourth-year Biology student described his experience,

Our university has been participating in the Biology Universiade for many years. Every year NSU students are prize winners in both individual and team standings. This was the first year our team participated so it was an exciting and unforgettable experience. I often participated in Chemistry and Biology Olympiads in school. After so many years without competing, I really enjoyed feeling our competitive spirit.
