The following "Actual problems of applied mathematics" internet seminar will take place on December 18

The next seminar "Actual problems of applied mathematics" will be held on December 18 at 5 pm (UTC+7).
Seminar heads: I. A. Taimanov, S. I. Kabanikhin, A. E. Mironov, M. A. Shishlenin.
Seminar secretary: N. M. Prokhoshin (n.prokhoshin@g.nsu.ru)

RAS academician Eugene E. Tyrtyshnikov (Marchuk Institute of Numerical Mathematics RAS) will present his talk "Tensor expansions and their applications".

Over the past 10–20 years, tensor expansions have become one of the main tools for data analysis and a very useful intrument for constructing effective methods for solving multidimensional problems of computational mathematics. Nevertheless, there are a number of unsolved issues that would be very interesting to clarify. Mostly they are questions related to the structure of rank sets in the case of canonical expansions and problems of justification and modernization of some popular tensor expansions optimization algorithms. In addition to an overview of the current situation in this area, the report will put the emphasis on the usredolved issues.

In order to participate in the seminar, on December 18 after 4:45 pm (UTC+7) you should connect to the Zoom conference via the following link https://zoom.us/j/93473879731 or manually using the Zoom conference ID 934 7387 9731.
