NSU Researchers Awarded 75 Million Rubles in Russian Science Foundation Grants

The Russian Science Foundation announced the results of their latest grant competitions for researchers. Two NSU projects in the fields of discrete mathematics and nuclear physics won in the "Conducting fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research by separate scientific groups" competition. The research will be conducted in 2023-2025. Three more NSU projects from NSU were awarded funding extensions until 2024 for work in the fields of nonlinear optics, photonics, and catalysis. The overall funding received to support these projects is almost 75 million rubles.

Winning projects:

  • "New methods to control the injection and self-organization of beams in a plasma wake accelerator". The grant amount is 18 million rubles. The project leader is Konstantin Lotov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Professor NSU Department of Physics
  • "Effective representations of standard mathematical structures". The amount of the grant is 15 million rubles. Project supervisor is Sergey Goncharov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Teacher NSU Department of Mechanics and Mathematics and SESC NSU.

Extended projects:

  • "Mathematical modeling and numerical methods for solving modern problems in nonlinear optics and photonics". The grant amount is 14 million rubles. The project leader is Mikhail Fedoruk, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Chief Researcher at NSU MMD.
  • “Development of innovative dark matter and neutrino detectors based on alternative scintillation mechanisms in visible and infrared regions”. The amount of the grant is 13.8 million rubles. The project leader is Alexey Buzulutskov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Professor NSU PD.
  • "Catalysts based on complexes of Ru and Mn for stereoselective processes of oxidative hydroxylation of benzyl С-Н groups of organic compounds". The grant amount is 14 million rubles. Project leader is Konstantin Brylyakov, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, and Professor NSU Department of Natural Sciences.
