NSU Opens Department at Thomas Sankara University in Burkina Faso

Novosibirsk State University, with the support of the Center for Public Diplomacy, has opened a preparatory department at Thomas Sankara University in Burkina Faso. NSU is the first Russian university to cooperate with a West African country in this format.  Currently, two groups of 50 students are studying there to prepare for Bachelors and Masters programs.  The curriculum includes Russian language courses taught online by NSU teachers.

This phase of the prep program ends in August 2025. The next phase is preparatory courses in the medical and biological fields. Students who successfully complete the courses and pass entrance examinations will be eligible to continue their studies at NSU. The University will also organize 3-6 month internships for Burkina Faso students. This will deepen their practical knowledge and introduce them to Russian educational standards.

Evgeny Sagaydak, Head of the NSU Education Export Department, noted,

NSU and Thomas Sankara University signed a cooperation agreement as part of the International Forum for Technological Cooperation "Technoprom-2024".
