On July 22, the Demonstration Center for New Technologies began its work in the NSU academic building. The main objective of the Center is to present NSU's achievements and developments in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as to provide consulting support on using the new technologies. Currently, the Demonstration Center houses 15 exhibits that cover all main areas related to the functioning of a "smart city". The first visitor to test the new exhibits was NSU Rector Mikhail Fedoruk. The expositions will be constantly updated.
At the end of December last year, NSU became one of six universities selected in the second wave of a competition to create world-class research centers in the field of artificial intelligence. NSU specializes in "Construction and Urban Environments". This involves the development of "smart city" technologies, which will later be implemented in the Koltsovo science city, at facilities in the Novosibirsk Region, and then replicated throughout Russia. The main demonstration platform for new Center developments is the new world-class campus that is being built at NSU as part of the national project "Science and Universities".
NSU will implement a wide range of solutions in the field of artificial intelligence. Thus, the University will have intelligent air, noise, and vibration control systems, a system for monitoring engineering infrastructure facilities and buildings, an information platform for managing the educational process, a system for urban security that includes the prevention of emergency situations, an information platform for managing administrative and economic activities, and much more.
