In 2019, for the first time NSU will become the site of what is expected to be the largest informatics event in the country, “Computer Science Summer in Russia” (CSSR). The NSU Algorithmic Laboratory, the A. P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems., and the S.L. Sobolev Institute of Mathematics are organizing the event. The CSSR unique open program format will unite two international conferences, a series of workshops, and a summer school in computer science for students in Russia and the near abroad.More than 10 well-known foreign scientists, including winners of prestigious awards in the field of informatics such as the Turing Prize, have been invited to speak. The event will cover a wide range of issues from fundamental informatics (such as the complexity of algorithms and approaches to solving algorithmically challenging problems) to applied aspects (including the design and analysis of programs, data and knowledge engineering, and machine learning).
Denis Ponomarev, Senior Researcher at the NSU Algorithmic Laboratory, described the event,
The “Computer Science Summer in Russia” open program format of conferences, summer schools and workshops provides more opportunities for participation. We are not only soliciting article submissions for the conference, but also applications to conduct summer school courses and workshops. An expansive program is being prepared that will be announced in early spring.
Applications to conduct summer school courses and workshops should be submitted to the organizing committee for consideration by December 16th. Decisions on applications will be announced on January 14, 2019.
