NSU and FEFU Scientists Developing Environmentally Friendly Technology

Last week, Novosibirsk State University Vice-Rector for Research Dmitry Churkin met with Far East Federal University (FEFU) Rector Boris Korobets and one of the University’s key industrial partners “BioCarbon”. During the meeting, the parties discussed joint development creating and implementing technology for efficient waste processing using high-temperature pyrolysis.

Dmitry Churkin provided details,

We have common goals aimed not only at improving the environment, but also for our development strategies. This year at the Eastern Economic Forum, we plan to show the first results and a layout of the production line. We will then consolidate the results of the project by signing an agreement on the commercial use of the technology. We are grateful to FEFU for the invitation and the hard work that we organized.

FEFU and NSU scientists are currently creating an industrial prototype for a technological line that will allow the production of high-calorie synthetic gas fuel. This will be used at RusHydro's facilities in isolated and hard-to-reach areas of the macro-region. BioCarbon Director Vitaly Romanosov noted that the creation of a group for the introduction of waste-to-energy technology will make it possible to implement projects not only in the Far East, but internationally.
