"Nonlinear Photonics 2018" Conducted at Novosibirsk State University

From August 21-24, the Center for Nonlinear Photonics and Quantum Technology of Novosibirsk University conducted "Nonlinear Photonics 2018" (NLP2018), a school for young scientists, post-graduate students and senior students at NSU. School participants had an opportunity to learn about results from the latest research and developments in the field of fiber and nonlinear optics.

The School was designed to raise the professional level of scientific research, broaden the horizons for this research and attract young researchers, graduate students and senior students to solving urgent problems in the field of nonlinear photonics. The School covered a wide range of issues related to various aspects of nonlinear photonics, starting with the problems of fundamental science and ending with practical applications. The School’s program included overview lectures from the world's leading scientists in the field of nonlinear photonics and new photonic technologies. These experts included scientists from Germany, the United States of America, Great Britain, Italy, France, Finland, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to lectures on contemporary problems of nonlinear photonics, the curriculum included thematic reports on various aspects of research and development in the field of telecommunications and laser systems, training courses, poster sessions by young scientists, as well as cultural and entertainment events.
