In November, an NSU delegation with the Head of the Education Export Department Evgeny Sagaydak and the Dean of the Natural Sciences Department Vladimir Reznikov visited Heilongjiang University (HU).
Sagaydak explained, “The main goal of the trip to Harbin was to discuss the further development of the Chinese-Russian Institute (CRI) that was created by NSU and Heilongjiang University 13 years ago”.
During the visit, the delegation met with Wang Jingbo, Rector of Heilongjiang University. The Rector confirmed her readiness to support the activities of the first ever joint institute between Russia and China. There were also meetings between the heads of institutes that participate in the joint training of Chinese students and NSU teachers.
Sagaydak emphasized that, “One of the important results of the meetings in Harbin was that the universities confirmed their interest in expanding cooperation in the scientific and educational spheres and improving the quality of training for CRI students”.
As a result, the leadership of the Heilongjiang University Institute of Mathematics will visit NSU in December and the heads of other institutes involved in the joint CRI student training will visit by the end of January.
Background: The Chinese-Russian Institute was established in 2011. The Institute’s main goal is to study the global experience of the world's leading universities to reform the higher education system of the PRC. Using the example of the CRI’s HU and NSU partnership, a model of interaction between universities in Russia and China for the training of highly qualified specialists for science and high-tech businesses has been developed. Thanks to the CRI, more than 2,000 highly qualified specialists have been trained in the following areas: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, and law. More than 30% of them completed their studies at NSU in all three levels of higher education: Bachelor's, Master's, and Postgraduate studies.
