NSU to Start Visiting Professors Program

Bringing to life the “5-100” program, NSU welcomes professors of leading international universities to give lectures to the students.The September schedule includes lectures of the Associate Professor in Slavic Studies from the University of Bologna (Italy), Gabriella Elina Imposti.

The University of Bologna is considered to be the oldest university in Europe. It presently holds the 188th position in QS rankings. A partnership agreement between NSU and the University of Bologna was signed in 2013. Ms. Gabriella Imposti’s visit starts the collaboration according to the agreement signed, the more so that she is going to become the co-editor of the English-language issue of the journal “Vestnik. Novosibirsk State University”, Series “History and Philology”.

On this visit to NSU Professor Imposti is going to deliver some lectures on the history of the University of Bologna, Slavic studies in Italy and regional dialects of the Italian language. Welcome to all those interested!

Reference. Prof. Gabriella Imposti’s research interests cover a wide range of fields:
1. History of Russian slavistics and in particular Aleksander Vostokov.
2. Russian translations from English (Thomas Moore, Southey) and German literature (Burger, Schiller, Goethe) during the Romantic Age.
3. The fantastic in Russian literature.
4. Contemporary Russian Women Writers and gender studies in Russia.
5. Russian Avant-garde, in particular Kamenskii and Khlebnikov.
6. Literature and cinema: Andrzej Wajda, Robert Bresson, Kira Muratova, Andrej Tarkovskij.
