This year the top-3 universities are located in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Among regional universities, Novosibirsk State University was ranked the best for graduates' earnings in IT and sixth in the overall ranking with an average salary of 112 thousand rubles. The

Service also noted that NSU leads in the number of graduates remaining in their city of study.

Alexey Okunev, Vice-Rector for NSU Development talked about NSU’s strategy,

NSU pays a great deal of attention to the development of IT through new educational programs, research, and applied work. Therefore, our position as the best regional university did not come as a surprise. Among the new scientific fields at NSU are Master’s programs in quantum computing (Physics Department), artificial intelligence and big data (Department of Mathematics and Mechanics), and bioinformatics (jointly conducted by the Natural Sciences Department and the Information Technology Department). At the undergraduate level, computer science profiles for physics information technology and artificial intelligence at the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics have been introduced. Next year, an undergraduate program in deep machine learning will be launched at the NSU Higher College of Informatics.

This year’s university rankings not only include information on graduates' salaries, but on the results of the largest international student competitions. The rating also provides information about university graduates who have become Nobel laureates.
