International Medical Tournament

The fourth International Medical Tournament is going to be held April 21-24 at Novosibirsk State University. This year, 24 students from Russia, Germany, and Serbia will take part in the full-time tournament. 11 teams will compete in the English-speaking league (all solutions, task reports, and discussions in English), 13 teams - in the Russian-speaking league.

The «Medical Tournament» project (MeDic House) was developed and implemented by students in the Novosibirsk State University Faculty of Medicine with support from the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation in 2013.

The International Medical Tournament is a contest for medical students that invites them to solve complex diagnostic problems based on doctors’ practical experience, and present their solutions to experts. The Tournament structure involves communication among participants, an exchange of acquired knowledge and ideas and evaluation by colleagues. Also, the event is aimed at establishing international contacts among students and universities and spreading medical knowledge around the world.

The Tournament is targeted towards developing future doctors' clinical thinking, as well as their skills in presenting their ideas is a clear and structured manner, providing a reasoned defense for their point of view, independent and balanced assessment of alternative opinions and respectful acceptance of criticism. All diagnostic tasks are real clinical cases, presented by experts and adapted to suit the Tournament’s goals.
