NSU student became the winner of the Russian Cup in underwater sports

A third-year student at the Physics Department of the Novosibirsk State University, Andrey Khayrullin, as a member of the Novosibirsk Region team, won the Russian Cup in the underwater sport in the 4x100 meter relay race, and also won bronze in the individual championship, swimming at a distance of 100 meters in fins.

250 sportsmen from different regions of Russia took part in the competition. For Andrei Khayrullin this is the seventh Cup of Russia, however, as the athlete notes, the medal was a total surprise for him.

— When preparing, we were more tuned to 200 meters. But in the end 200 meters I failed and did not even get to the final, but I took the bronze on 100 meters. The entire pedestal on the hundred-meter mark was beyond the Novosibirsk region. So on the victorious baton for us we came out with a winning attitude, — says Andrey Khayrullin.

The winner stressed that training is not always easy to combine with a study, but you can always find a way out.

Of course, the training process takes a lot of time. The consequence of this is that a few hours before departure, I was retaking quantum mechanics, — admits the bronze medalist.
