The President of the Russian Federation Recognizes NSU Professor for his Contribution to the Development of Science

President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, recognized Ivan Kuznetsov, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor in the Department of National History at the NSU Humanities Institute., for his contribution to the development of science. The Presidential Decree, dated September 13, 2017 was published September 18 on the official Internet portal for legal information.

Ivan Semenovich Kuznetsov and ten other specialists in the field of education and science were noted by the President for their achievements in the development of science and education, their training of qualified specialists and long-term, conscientious work.

Ivan Semenovich Kuznetsov was born on December 10, 1950 in the village of Totchikha, Suzunsky District in Novosibirsk region. His father was the village paramedic. He graduated with honors from the NSU Humanities Department specializing in History (1973) and got his post-graduate degree at NSU in (1976). He has been working in the NSU Department of National History since 1982,. In 1993 he became a Professor. Ivan Semenovich integrates modern research methodologies in his historical anthropology, history of everyday life and oral history courses. He researched the social-psychological aspects of regional history in the 1920s, the relationship between the scientific community and power structures (based on material from Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk). His work has made a significant contribution to the historical reconstruction of the processes of political and sociol-cultural development of the country and the Siberian region in the post-revolutionary period and in the second half of the 20th century.
