Specialized Educational Scientific Center (SESC) NSU and Private School in Almaty Launch Educational Project

SESC NSU and the TAMOS Education Private School (Almaty, Kazakhstan) agreed to organize a joint physics and mathematics summer school in Almaty.

Nikolay Yavorsky, Director SESC NSU, participated in the TAMOS Education School anniversary celebration. During the event Yavorsky and agreed on joint educational projects with colleagues from Kazakhstan.

Yavorsky talked about the program,

The summer physics and mathematics session will take place in the middle of August this year. The site for the school is a very beautiful place in the upper part of Almaty, in the foothills of the Tien Shan Mountains. Our main goal is to attract children who are interested in physics and mathematics, and to strengthen their motivation for studying these subjects. We have invited 50-60 young people from the middle grades to attend. Physics and mathematics teachers during this summer session will include SESC NSU staff members.

In 2019, SESC NSU is planning to conduct a full summer physics school program with TAMOS Education.

Yavosky added,

We would like to include other Kazakhstan Republic educational organizations in this year’s summer school. We have already met with the leadership of the Republic’s physics-mathematics school, which is 10 years younger than SESC. Of course, we also need to establish contacts with the leading universities in Almaty, because students and scientists from these universities should also work in these high schools as they do at SESC.
