NSU Startup Studio Сreates Internet Auto-Censorship System

Students at the NSU Institute of Intelligent Robotics (IIR), Nikita Zelenkov, Yan Komarevtsev, and Ilya Trushkin, participated in the NSU Startup Studio and created the ACMS Censor system that hides unwanted content in video and audio files. The system automatically recognizes scenes with smoking, obscene language, extremist materials, and 18+ content and automatically covers these fragments with a mosaic or "beeps".  It was designed for ordinary users and content authors as well as large media companies, online cinemas, and video hosting sites. The project was curated by NSU IIR graduate Maxim Yemelyanov

Team member Ilya Trushkin explained,

We are creating a solution that makes it possible to publish content that does not violate platform rules and legislation. Our system filters materials before publication so that authors do not have to do it manually.

The developers carefully studied the market for similar services and Trushkin reported,

We have not found similar solutions on the market. Most existing tools are limited to photo format, require manual moderation, or simply notify about the presence of violating content. Our system goes further by hiding unwanted elements automatically. This simplifies publication and increases content security content.

The team is currently finishing the deployment setup and testing product integration. The service will be available in two versions: free — for regular users and commercial — for large companies. The first version for corporate solutions will be launched in August.
