NSU Launches InteRussia International Engineering Internship Program

On June 2, NSU hosted the grand opening of InteRussia 2025, an internship program for international engineering specialists. This is Novosibirsk State University’s second internship program. 17 students from 14 countries (Chile, Jordan, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Albania, Serbia, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Indonesia, Ecuador, Uzbekistan and Tanzania), were chosen to be InteRussia interns.

The internship is supported by the Gorchakov Fund, SB RAS, and ANO "Mezhdunarodniki" with additional support from the Directorate of the World Youth Festival and the Presidential Grants Fund. From June 2 to June 29, the young researchers will take courses at the University in the promising fields of "Artificial Intelligence and Medicine" and "Modern Quantum and Information Technologies in Electronics and Photonics". Participants will work in one of two groups depending on their chosen area of expertise. The Program will provide the interns with an opportunity to develop and present their own scientific project.

Evgeny Sagaydak, Head of the NSU Education Export Department, explained.

This is the second year we organized an internship program and it is already clear these programs are in great demand. This year, more than 160 applications were submitted generating a competition with almost 10 people per place. Only the best students were able to pass the tough selection process and win a spot in the Program. This year, we decided to focus on two, rather than three, specialties. "Artificial Intelligence and Medicine" was included again this year because the 2024 internship demonstrated this field was interesting and in demand. We added a new area related to quantum mechanics. Among other innovations, we have increased the duration of the internship from three to four weeks,
