NSU Conducts the Second School for Scientific Communications

On October 16-18, the NSU Humanities Institute and the Office for the Promotion and Popularization of SB RAS Scientific Achievements will hold the second School for Scientific Communications.

"We hope that the event will attract people who would like to work in this new sphere, to develop and form it. We hope to find colleagues and associates, with whom we will advance science in Siberia," says Yulia Pozdnyakova, Head of the Department for the Promotion and Popularization of SB RAS Scientific Achievements and teacher in the Journalism Department.

Three main subjects are planned for the classes: Scientific PR, Scientific Journalism, and Organizing Popular Scientific Events. Through lectures and training, students will learn: how to establish links between scientific organizations, innovative companies, and the media; what issues can be solved with the help of PR; how to write about science in a way that is accessible to the general public; and what the trends are in scientific communications.

The School was first held in 2016 as a platform to bring together students interested in popularizing the scientific achievements of postgraduate students and young scientists. This year, the school is supported by the Russian Association of Innovative Regions and will take place as part of the Novosibirsk Region Science Festival 2017. The Festival was organized by the Novosibirsk Region Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation Policy. This made it possible for the School to be free for all participants.

To enroll in the School you can visit: http://project69039.tilda.ws/ (in case of a large number of applications, the organizing committee reserves the right to select participants).

The School for Scientific Communications will be held at Novosibirsk State University (Pirogov Str., 1, Akademgorodok) on October 16-18, 2017. Participants will receive certificates.
