Novosibirsk State University and Heilongjiang University Launch Joint Postgraduate Program

Novosibirsk State University and Heilongjiang University are expanding their cooperation in the scientific field and will launch a new joint postgraduate program in 2026. For Stage 1, the universities have chosen chemistry as a priority for their joint work. In the future, the number of subject areas will increase and the universities plan to reach an annual target of 100-150 postgraduate students.

As part of this initiative, Novosibirsk State University will become the entry point for foreign postgraduate students interested in conducting research in Akademgorodok. The University will act as an integrator, attracting young researchers, concluding agreements with them, providing campus accommodations, and handling all organizational issues, including migration registration. Novosibirsk State University will also, together with the research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, select a scientific supervisor for each postgraduate student.

The main goal of cooperation between Novosibirsk State University and the research institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is to increase the number of talented foreign young people who are interested and have the necessary training to engage in scientific research and can be prepared for the defense of their doctoral dissertation within the standard postgraduate study period (3-4 years, depending on the field of study).
