Leading Specialists in Molecular Oncology will give Lectures to Young Scientists in Akademgorodok

The Molecular Biology section in the NSU Natural Sciences Department and Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS will conduct an international school for young scientists "Modern problems of molecular oncology-2017".

The event will take place September 28-29. Among the chairpersons on the organizing committee are Vladimir Voitsitsky, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Novosibirsk Region Chief Oncologist, Ludmilla Gulyaeva, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Laboratory for Molecular Mechanisms of Carcinogenesis at the Federal Scientific Institute for Molecular Biology and Biophysics, Professor of the NSU Departments of Molecular Biology and Chemistry of the Environment, and  Maxim Filipenko, Head of the Laboratory for Pharmacogenomics at the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS and Candidate of Biological Sciences.

During the school for young scientists, lectures will be delivered by leading foreign experts (Prof. R. Pillai, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology, India, Prof. B. Zhao, Chair State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, Research Center for Eco -Environmental Sciences Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, Prof. A. Shelling, Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Auckland, New Zealand and others) in addition to Russian scientists (Professor Mikhail Krasilnikov , Director of the Research Institute for Carcinogenesis at the N.N. Blokhin Russian State Medical University in Moscow, Doctor of Medical Sciences Sergey Shevchenko, Head of the VI Oncological Department at the Novosibirsk City Clinical Hospital #1 and others). The reports will present the main issues in modern molecular oncology, such as molecular markers in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, as well as epigenetic aspects of carcinogenesis and other important topics.
