The Russian Federation Presidential Scholarship for postgraduate and adjunct students announced 500 winners in its second year competition. The monthly scholarship is 75 thousand rubles and can last from 1 to 4 years. Eight NSU postgraduate students were awarded scholarships last year: three each from the Natural Sciences and Physics Departments, and one each from the Economics Department and Humanities Institute.
In 2025, the number of NSU Presidential Scholarship winners more than doubled to 17. Scholarships were awarded to 6 postgraduate students at the NSU Physics Department, 5 postgraduate students at the Natural Sciences Department, 3 postgraduate students at the Humanities Institute, 2 postgraduate students at the Geological and Geophysical Department, and 1 postgraduate student of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department.
Winners were selected from more than 4.6 thousand applications from 73 Russian regions. Winners came from all federal districts including 2 postgraduate students from new regions. The largest number of applications were submitted in the "Engineering Sciences" category. Candidates for the Presidential Scholarship are nominated by their scientific supervisors.
