The Mechanics and Mathematics Department includes a systems programming program, the Physics Department has a program on physical informatics, and the Humanities Institute has a program on fundamental and applied linguistics.
In recent years, NSU has also been actively developing the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. At the end of April this year, the University won a government grant to train top IT specialists and is launching a new Bachelor's degree program in Applied Artificial Intelligence in September 2025. It will be developed in cooperation with industrial partners Rostelecom and Innotech (T1). The pilot enrollment will have 150 students. Grants allow students to study for free and receive scholarships from partner companies.
