On March 26, a meeting of representatives from three universities took place in Urgench: NSU, Urgench State University, and the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
NSU was represented at the meeting by Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor Andrei Sergeevich Zuev, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at the Humanities Institute and Candidate of Philological Sciences Tatyana Ivanovna Belitsa, and specialist at the Scientific-Organizational Department at the Humanities Institute Evgenia Andreevna Ignatieva.
The hosts were Urgench State University Rector Bakhrom Ismailovich Abdullaev, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Gairat Urazalievich Urazboev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation Zafar Shavkatovich Ibragimov, and Dean of the Socio-Economic Sciences Department Ilyos Sultanovich Abdullaev. The National University of Uzbekistan was represented by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbekistan Republic and Doctor of Historical Sciences Anatoly Sagdullaevich Sagdullaev, Head of the Department of History of Uzbekistan and Doctor of Historical Sciences Akhmadzhon Boymakhamatovich Kholikulov, Head of the Department of Archeology at the History Department and Doctor of Historical Sciences Fayzulla Bobokulovich Ochildiyev, and Professor of the History of Uzbekistan Department and Doctor of Historical Sciences Olga Petrovna Kobzeva.
During the meeting, areas and prospects for trilateral cooperation in the educational and research fields were discussed. Particular attention was paid to plans for organizing scientific internships, open online lectures, attracting Urgench State University and Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan students to the NSU Master's Program, and the possibility of colleagues from Uzbekistan participating in NSU scientific conferences.
As a result of the negotiations, it was decided to conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation between NSU and Urgench State University within the framework of the activities of the Consortium of Researchers in the History of North and Central Asian Countries. The Consortium is an informal association of scientific and educational organizations established in 2019 as an NSU initiative. The Consortium’s activities include conducting and popularizing historical research, the organization of scientific and educational events, promoting the exchange of scientific information, and the implementation of publishing programs.
