NSU International Physics Olympiad Qualifying Results

Novosibirsk State University announced the results for the qualifying round of the international "Your Path to Real Science" Physics Olympiad. The Olympiad was held in December and for the first time it not only took place in Russia, but in foreign countries. Over 100 international students from African countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Guinea) and China participated.

The Olympiad was co-organized in Africa by the Center for Public Diplomacy, and in China by Novosibirsk State University's partners.

Twenty-six participants advanced to the final round: 11 from China, 14 from Mali, and one from Niger. The placements in the qualifying round were:

First Place (2 participants)—from China;

Second place (8 participants) – 5 participants from China, 3 participants from Mali;

Third place (16 participants) – 4 participants from China, 11 participants from Mali, and 1 participant from Niger.

All students from non-CIS countries who advanced to the final round are winners of the qualifying round not only among international participants but also among all 1,000 Olympiad participants.

The final round for citizens of Russia, the CIS, and non-CIS countries will take place in March. Winners and runners-up of the final round will have the opportunity to enroll at NSU and other leading Russian universities without entrance examinations.
