NSU hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Surkhandarya Region of Uzbekistan. Participants included Rectors of the leading universities in the Region. NSU was represented by Rector Mikhail Fedoruk, Dean at the Mechanics and Mathematics Department Igor Marchuk and Natural Sciences Department Dean Vladimir Reznikov, Director of the Humanities Institute Andrey Zuev, Head of the Psychology Department at the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies Olga Pervushina, and Head of the Education Export Department Evgeny Sagaydak. The negotiations concluded with signed cooperative agreements between Novosibirsk State University and Termez State University, Termez State Pedagogical Institute, and Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy.
Priority areas for cooperation include the launch of joint educational programs, student and faculty mobility programs, and scientific exchanges. NSU is interested in attracting students from Uzbekistan to study in the University's Master's and postgraduate programs. The areas of greatest interest are mathematics, natural sciences (chemistry and biology), and humanities (archeology, history, and philology).
