The lecture is devoted to web-graph modeling with emphasis on its application. Those interested will learn how to model web correctly, why the classical PageRank went missing in action and how to combat it. The lecture is scheduled at Room 442, 17:45-19:30. Open to the public.

Prof. Andrey M. Raigorodsky, DSc of Physics and Mathematics, Professor at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Chair at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, was awarded the President’s Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists (2011) for breakthroughs in a number of fields in discrete mathematics and their practical application in the field of information technology. Since 2007, he has been working for Yandex, launched a laboratory on combinatorial and probabilistic methods, has supervised a research group at MIPT and lectured at the Independent University of Moscow and the Yandex School of Data Analysis. He has been a visiting lecturer at foreign universities and has written 100+ academic papers.

Yandex keeps arranging public gnostic lectures for Novosibirsk students. Early in summer they could meet Prof. Alexey Savvateev, working for New Economic School and the Yandex School of Data Analysis. The audience asked numerous questions and actively discussed their own experience of making game-theory Internet models. The Yandex School of Data Analysis has been working at NSU for two years. The aim of the School is to train specialists in data analysis and information retrieval for further employment at Yandex or any other IT companies.
