Employers have put NSU in sixth place in physics and astronomy in the world

According to employers, Novosibirsk State University occupies the sixth place in physics and astronomy in the world and the first place in Russia. These are the results of the QS rating, compiled as part of their survey. The list includes 500 universities in the world.



The international agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) annually makes world university ratings. One of the parameters is the university's reputation among employers.

To formulate this rating, the QS agency interviewed 40 thousand people from different countries. They were asked to name up to 10 domestic and 30 international institutions, which they consider the best for hiring graduates. Also, employers were asked to indicate the directions (discipline), that are important for them when they hire new people.

Thus, in the «physics and astronomy» discipline, NSU was in the 6th place among 500 universities in the world. Massachusetts Institute of Technology wasin first place, second and third places were awarded to Harvard and Cambridge.

Among Russian universities, Novosibirsk State University is in first place, followed by the MV Lomonosov Moscow State University (7th place in the ratings). MIPT and MSTU named after N.E Bauman are in the 8th and 9th places.

In 2017, according to QS subject ratings, Novosibirsk State University entered the top 50 universities in physics and astronomy
