NSU and University of Cadiz (Spain) in ERASMUS+

NSU’s partner, the University of Cadiz (in Spanish: Universidad de Cádiz), commonly referred to as UCA, is a public university located in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. It has offered NSU to take part in the mobility program ERASMUS+, which offers opportunities for individuals to study, work or teach in other parts of the world.

Irina Sukhinina, the Director of the Spanish Center at NSU, comments that ERASMUS+ supports the international exchange of students (undergraduates, graduates and post-graduates), academics, ideas and joint educational programs between institutions. The mobility program implementation agreement for 2015-2021 offers university students a possibility of studying or working abroad in another European country for a period of at least 3 months and maximum 12 months. The name of the project refers to the Dutch Renaissance humanist and theologian Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam. He studied at diverse European universities and described the education as a chance for modern people.

The Erasmus program, a program of European student exchange, was established in 1987 and was working for about 25 years first in Europe and then in the EU countries. Having become one of the most successful European programs, it declares that now student and staff mobility in higher education will be possible not only within Europe, but also with partner countries from the rest of the world. Most students participating in a European exchange will be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant and will not have to pay tuition fees to their host university.
