Where is Novosibirsk University located?

First thing that comes to your mind is that it is in the forest. This is true, because more than one quarter of Academgorodok is a birch and pine tree forest. Academ is our miniature Narnia shielded from the noisy Berdsk highway and other city districts by the green wall. This is probably why we enjoy a uniquely peaceful atmosphere in Academgorodok so you fall in love with at the first sight.

The wide streets of Academgorodok were specifically created for leisurely walks at any time of the year. If you want to not only enjoy a stroll but also X gain new knowledge and visit something special, you can visit the Central Botanical Garden of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In the garden you can see more than 100 species of rare and endangered plants, 3000 species from tropical and subtropical zones, and hundreds of unique samples some of which have been selected by scientific researchers. The Botanical Garden is also one of the research institutes.

If you want to experience a bit more action during your walk, you can go deeper into the forest. Along some paths you can not only meet, but also feed squirrels.

Akademgorodok’s idyllic proximity to nature is impressively combined with developed infrastructure. In this prestigious district with quite expensive real estate, one can find everything necessary for the active full life of any big city dweller: big shopping malls and smaller supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, drug stores and medical centers, hairdressers and beauty salons, fitness centers and swimming pools, places for beach-related rest and for winter entertainments.

Taking everything mentioned above into account, it is worth saying that first and foremost Akademgorodok is a scientific center. NSU’s students, graduates and faculty lead active research lives in 35 institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science.
