Open Space Picnic

The Open Space Picnic is an annual scientific picnic in the yard of the new NSU building. This represents a new format from the Knowledge Day celebrations at the University. Each picnic has its own theme. The main leitmotif for the first picnic was the famous space saga "Star Wars". In 2016, the picnic’s theme was comic books and superheroes.
Three dozen scientific and popular entertainment venues were organized at the scientific picnic, such as: labs in tents, mini-lectures, a mobile planetarium, sports and dance area, food court and many more. NSU departments and scientific laboratories, research institutes in Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk Information Center for Nuclear Energy, School of eloquence skill "Person of One’s Word", Novosibirsk Planetarium, company "Enterprise", festival of contemporary scientific cinema, CYIC Zoomer, Center of scientific entertainment "Factory of Geniuses " and other teams have been participants and partners of the picnic. In the evening the music program on the big stage and fireworks is organized for participants. Everyone x finds something of interest in the universe of the Open Space Picnic.

  • Congratulations to the first-year students on the beginning of the school year from NSU Rector, deans of departments and directors of institutes.
