NSU and Roscosmos Discuss Cooperation

January 16, Novosibirsk State University hosted a meeting with Yuri Borisov, General Director of the Roscosmos State Corporation, Andrei Travnikov, Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, and Mikhail Fedoruk, NSU Rector. The Roscosmos delegation received information about NSU’s scientific and technological background on the Sphere Project. They also discussed strengthening cooperation between Roscosmos, the University, and the SB RAS and increasing the efficiency of scientific and applied research on the manned program and other important areas.

Fedoruk noted that one of the key competitive advantages of the University is it’s integration into the ecosystem of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, which includes cooperation with research institutes and Academpark. A strong research base allows the University to take an active part in solving strategic problems that ensure the technological sovereignty of the country.

Fedoruk continued,

We are implementing a number of joint projects with large high-tech companies. New opportunities for the development of educational and research infrastructure will be provided to the University by the world-class campus, which is currently being built as part of the “Science and Universities” national project. One of the goals of campus policy is to expand the activities of existing and new scientific departments. The primary area that we will further strengthen and develop, and for which additional space will be provided in the research center of the new NSU campus, is the Aerospace Research Department. We thank the Head of Roscosmos for his positive assessment of the University’s activities and his willingness to make NSU one of their flagship universities, along with the Moscow Aviation Institute and Bauman Moscow State Technical University, in the implementation of strategic projects.
