New NSU Youth Laboratory Studies Carbon Composites for Electronics

In August 2022, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science announced a competition for funding research in the field of new materials for the electronics industry. In the Fall, to respond to this challenge, Novosibirsk State University, together with their partner the Novosibirsk Factory for Radio Components "Oxid", opened a youth laboratory for composite materials for electronics at the Institute of Chemical Technology NSU-CI SB RAS Scientific and Educational Center.

According to Marina Lebedeva, Laboratory Head and Candidate of Chemical Sciences, more than 15 university scientists and factory employees will work together in this new scientific division to create composites for supercapacitors, resistive pastes for the manufacture of chip resistors using SMD technologies, and metallization pastes used in the manufacture of night vision devices. Denis Kozlov, Center Director, RAS Professor, and Doctor of Chemistry, added that staff for the new laboratory is being put together quickly and furniture as well as some of the necessary equipment are in the process of being purchased.
