Novosibirsk participants will prepare for the «Total Dictation» via radio

Philologists from NSU began to prepare radio listeners for the «Total Dictation». Now, the morning air on Radio 54 has a rubric «Chusovitin, to the blackboard!».

The leader of the rubric Alexander Chusovitin acts like a schoolboy. He writes down two sentences chosen by philologists from  Novosibirsk State University, experts in the project «Total dictation».

Then, they analyze the errors. Philologists explain complex cases in spelling and punctuation. This week Russian language lessons on the radio are conducted by the associate professor of the Chair of General and Russian Linguistics of the Humanitarian Institute at the NSU Oksana Isachenko.

— After two episodes of the program we understood that not all mistakes and difficulties can be addressed in the limited air time. So, we focus on the real challenges in written norms.

The rubric «Chusovitin, to the blackboard!» airs daily, in the mornings. A week later Oksana Isachenko will be replaced by Natalia Koshkareva, Head of the General and Russian Linguistics at the NSU Humanitarian Institute and Chairman of the Total Dictation Expert Council. Morning radio lessons will be available until the 8th of April. That is the day everyone will be able to participate in the «Total Dictation» action and assess their level of literacy.

Meanwhile, the program participants advise radio listeners to join Alexander Chusovitin and spend a few minutes trying to remember the basic rules of the Russian language.

The rubric «Chusovitin, to the blackboard!» is on Radio 54, at 106.2 FM every morning at 10:20.
