NSU Programmers Reach ACM-ICPC World Championship Finals

Novosibirsk SU 1, the Novosibirsk State University team for Sport Programming has won a place in the finals of the largest world championship programming competition for students, the ACM ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest.

Novosibirsk State University Archaeologists Suggest that Animals Showed Ancient Man Migration Path that was Silk Road Forerunner

A team at the Novosibirsk State University New Archeology Center and the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography SB RAS, together with colleagues from the American University of Central Asia, Kyrgyz National University and the University of Toronto discovered a unique cave in the Alai Valley that is the first multi-layered monument in the region. Cultural remains from the Stone Age to the modern era are in the cave.

Professor Elena Boldyreva, Chief Scientist at the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry (ISSCM) SB RAS, Head of the Solid State Chemistry Division in NSU’s Natural Sciences Department, and Doctor of Chemical Sciences, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from dinburgh University.

Guzel Yakhina Chosen as Total Dictation - 2018 Author

On Wednesday, November 29, at a TASS press conference, the author of the text for «Total Dictation – 2018» international literacy campaign was announced. The Expert Council, led by philologists from the Novosibirsk State University, will prepare for the dictation and check the results.
Writer Guzel Yakhina was chosen to be the «Total Dictation» author for 2018. Born in Kazan, Yakhina wrote the novel «Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes» that won the «Big Book» and «Yasnaya Polyana» awards.
